Any ideas on what the pain could be from. My family doc thought it was an ovarian cyst but obgyn says the cyst is too small to be causing such pain. The pain is in my pelvic area on the right side. I have had the pain for about 2 months and it is getting worse. My periods have become very painful too. Any ideas about this mystery pain? Please le me knowMy doc told me my ovarian cyst is not what is causing my pain and he won't know until he does an internal .
I'd get a second opinion too, you're health is worth it to get good advice and care. One other thing I would consider is endometriosis. That doesn't usually cause pain only on one side but your comment of the pain getting worse during your period makes me wonder about that possibility. That is when the tissue that makes up the uterine lining starts to grow in other areas of the abdomen outside of the uterus. It can be extremely painful. And when hormones signal your body to start your period, that tissue is affected by those hormones too but can't shed the tissue because of where it is located (no way for it to exit the body if it's in the abdomen and not the uterus), so the pain can be excruiating. Look it up on the web and see if that sounds like your situation. Then get to another doctor for a full exam. Good luck to you!
it can still cause pain! I would go to another OB! It would also be a polyp
I had pain on my right side for months and the doc pretty much told me I was crazy until they did surgery and found that the "small" cyst I had had gotten so big it torsed my ovary and they had to remove it. So--definitely get a 2nd opinion if you are in pain. Good luck to you!
I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts. I was also told that no matter how small they are they can still be painful. Mine usually begin to hurt about 2 weeks after my period and only last for about a day or two. So it doesn't matter how small they are.
