Ob/gyn and age?

How old can you be to go to the ob/gyn by yourself?Ob/gyn and age?
Once you turn 18 parents aren't allowed into the doctor's office with you. This could only be NY State law, but my mother was turned back two weeks after I turned 18. And this was a dermotologist, so an OB/GYN should consider your privacy even more especially if you're sexually active.

That should be something you decide with your mom. If you both feel you are old enough to go alone, then that's fine.

i think you have to be 18, unless you go to planned parenthood. if i was underage and had a problem i would just tell my mom to bring me to the gyno and not tell her what's wrong. it's none of her business even if i'm not having sex.
any young women in puberty or about to go into puberty can talk to an ob/gyn. If you or the woman in your life has questions or concerns that are specific to women it is never to early to at least go for a consultation.
I started going to dr's appts on my own when I was in my 20s but it wasn't anything to do with laws like one of the other posters said. I just chose to do so.
As for your State I would check with the Medical board about this or your primary care physician about the issue of age to go by yourself with any dr not just OB/GYN.
