so i recenly went to the doctor because i was having extremely heavy period....the doctor got my blood tests back and she said that i was not ovulating....i dont get it...how do you get your period if you dont ovulate? and the doctor now put me on BC pillls i know i am not ovulating on the BC but will i start to ovulate once i go off them?Ovulations and periods?
bcp's are a gyn's quick answer to irregular periods, but it is not the best solution. if your hormones are out of balance taking bcp's is not going to help balance them.
I can't tell you for sure why youd din't ovulate but here are some possible reasons:
1) hormonal imbalances
2) ovarian dysfuntion
3) stress
4) in the first years of your period when your body is still adjusting to menstruation
you may or may not ovulate once you are off of them. this depends on the reason you didn't ovulate.
i would see another doctor preferrably an endocrinologist.
also i would not use BCP's. I did for years because I had irregular period in my teens. It didn't help in the long run.
you should strat to ovulate once off of them...
u gotta stay on them to get ur peroid regually i think u need to see nother doc
This is a difficult question. If you are relly conserned about this then speak with your doctor to get things resolved
thats a tricky one, he didnt say why u were not ovulating before? you need to ask him more information. especially if you want to have children. fyi, even if u did have a problem with ovulating, in the future u could take clomid, which is a precription med that induces ovulation for the purpose of getting prenant.
