I've always thought that you ovulate a few days before your period, but i read on here that its after your period? Which is correct?Ovulation, when?
This is a bit graphic, but it works. In Natural Family Planning, one moniters the female's secretions. When one is near ovulation the mucus gets stringy. That is called 'spin', llike spinning wool. You can get some from inside yourself on a fingertip, then rub it on the thumb and if it is 'spin' it will make a string when you open your fingers.
This is an alignment of the proteins. Makes it easier for the sper to swim in the right direction. When there is no egg present, the proteins are more random and the secretions don't usually form a string.
PS, one is usually more 'interested' around ovulation time too.
Hope that helps. Whether trying to concieve or not.
It's usually after your period, about 14 days after, but that can vary a lot between women unless you're on the pill.
i dont know
it depends on your cycle. someone women ovulate before a period and some after and sometimes during.
it really depends on your cycle... usually, in a 28 day cycle, your ovulation takes place 14 days from your 1st menstrual flow...
ex. first menstrual flor: jan 1
ovulation: around jan 13-14 =)
