My best friend has painful periods once in a while. She refuses to take pills. Is there any other way to prevent the pain?Painful periods?
There is a really cool way to help the uterus relax that my mother told me about (she's a physical therapist by the way!). It's a bit difficult to describe, but I'll try to do my best!
Tell her to lay on her back and put her legs up onto a bed or a wall, so they are almost, but not quite straight. They should be in a position where they would be on someone's shoulders if someone was kneeling in front of her (and in fact my mom has done that for me when I was in a lot of pain). After that, just turn her toes in slightly and lay there for awhile. She might have to readjust her legs, but it should help. If you want, you might just let her put her ankles/calves on your shoulders, it is a bit easier that way!
An herbal remedy is Evening Primrose Oil gel caps. They aren't as effective as something like Aleive, but work pretty decently. I wish her luck and am impressed by her resolution (although as her friend, I can see your concern). Good luck!!
she can use a hot water bottle to keep the area that hurts warm
I love hot water bottles, but another suggestion is a heating pad.
If the pain should ever make it hard for your friend to function she should go to the dr and have it checked out.
Griffonia seed extract
It helps in Seritonine (seratonine is a VERY important hormone for womens happiness), Migraine and chronic tension headaches.
This herb also redeces insomnia, depression, and anxiety.
LAST but not least, it helps PMS
